Intense graphics are the first thing people notice about a Wavelength instrument. But we consider that look secondary to manufacturing a great playing, great sounding instrument. Our high quality precision shaped tonewoods, solid components and beautifully tough gloss finishes combine with that unique look to make a complete instrument. Move your cursor over the components in the pictures below to learn more about the anatomy of a Wavelength.
We have developed a specialized process to bring intense graphics to guitars without the use of plastic clings, decals or other overlays which could muffle your tone (and which look cheesy).
Like the transparent finishes of other high-end manufacturers we use dyes to color the wood but we are able to precision apply them to achieve our unique look. Our control also allows us to customize designs.
After we apply the dyes, we topcoat the guitar with a polyester finish. Polyester takes us a little extra time to work with but it is the best protection for your investment. Polyester is the finish of choice for the most highly recognized manufacturers.
A note about our graphics. Although we have developed exacting standards for reproducing colors on our guitars, each piece that we manufacture will display the unique characteristics of the underlying natural wood. We feel natural wood grain enhances the overall look and we want you to understand that each guitar will differ somewhat from the images on the website.
